bright blooms

Kit-Z1A big pot of brightly colored blooms today, made with Simon Says Stamp‘s June Card Kit.  I just started with a Kraft cardstock base, and a piece of white cardstock cut slightly smaller.  The flower pot was just hand-drawn and fussy-cut from the same Kraft cardstock.  I added a few strips of colored cardstock (with inked edges) to both the pot, and card-base.  (I don’t know why, but I just sort of have this thing for thin strips of cardstock, layered at weird angles.)

And then, I just went to town with the stamp set from the card kit, stamping some flowers on the white piece, and others on separate paper, fussy-cut and added with foam adhesive.  Before attaching the pot, I tied a bit of twine around it, and added an itty-bitty tag with the greeting.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Supplies used:  Simon Says Stamp’s June 2014 Card kit, Memento Ink (Tuxedo Black), Hero Arts Shadow Inks (Tide Pool, Soft Canteloupe, Pale Tomato, Butter Bar), Papertrey Ink Cardstock (Summer Sunrise, Blueberry Sky, Berry Sorbet).

Happy Sunday!  I finally had a whole weekend off (3-days, in fact!), and I’m so happy just to be home… so I’m sharing a happy card!

This was super easy and fun to make.  I just started with a bunch of patterned paper strips from the same paper pack (1/2″ wide), sanded the edges, and adhered them diagonally to a rectangle of scrap paper.  I trimmed it to the appropriate size, matted it with some Bazzill cardstock, and centered it on a coordinating Bazzill card-base.

The tag was super easy, too – just a fun stamped image, heat-embossed to match the cardstock I matted it on.  I added a few sequins for a bit of bling.

Short post for today… I’m off to make more cards!  Wishing you lots of smiles and giggles today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used:  Bazzill cardstock, My Mind’s Eye “Miss Caroline” patterned papers, Impression Obsessions “Smile, Giggle…: stamp, Stampendous Pearlustre Garnet embossing powder, Darice sequins.
